Ask ChatGPT about your Oura data.

You can ask ChatGPT or Claude about your Oura Ring data by connecting ghurt — a remote MCP server that reads your readiness, sleep, HRV, and temperature data on demand and hands it to your AI when you ask. Oura supports standard OAuth, so you authorize through Oura's own login screen and ghurt never sees your password. Connect once in your browser, then just ask.

What you actually get

A question you'd genuinely type, and the kind of answer that comes back.

Example conversation using ChatGPT with ghurt connected. Actual responses vary by model and by your own data. ghurt supplies the numbers; the interpretation is the model's, and it isn't medical advice.

How to connect Oura to ChatGPT or Claude

Entirely in-chat. No terminal, nothing to install.

  1. Create a free ghurt account

Email and password. No card. 30 queries per calendar month on the free tier.

  2. Authorize Oura

Click connect and you'll be sent to Oura's own login screen. You authorize there; ghurt receives a token and never sees your password. Revoke it whenever you like, from either side.

  3. Add ghurt to ChatGPT or Claude in one click

Your dashboard has a one-click connector for both. Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients can connect with an API key instead.

  4. Ask

Ask in plain language. The AI calls ghurt, ghurt fetches fresh from Oura, and you get an answer with your actual numbers in it.

What your AI can read from Oura

With the scoring context models need to read it correctly.

Readiness & recovery

Readiness score (0–100), HRV, and resting heart rate. ghurt tells the model the thresholds — 85+ optimal, 70–84 good, below 70 worth attention — so it doesn't invent its own scale.

Sleep

Sleep score (0–100) and full stage breakdown — deep, light, REM, and awake time.

Temperature & activity

Body temperature deviation from your personal baseline in °C, plus activity score (0–100).

Why the context matters: Oura's temperature reading is a deviation from your own baseline, not an absolute temperature — and readiness is a composite of seven contributors, all relative to your personal history. An AI handed a bare number will cheerfully misread both. ghurt ships the meaning alongside the value, which is the difference between a real answer and a confident wrong one.

Your Oura account and data

Facts, before you connect anything.

Standard OAuth — no password

You authorize through Oura's own login flow. ghurt never sees or stores your Oura password.

Health data is never stored

Each question fetches from Oura and passes through to your AI. Readiness, sleep stages, and HRV are not written to our servers.

Revoke from either side

Disconnect in one click from your ghurt dashboard, or revoke ghurt's access directly in your Oura account. Delete your account to purge everything.

Wear an Oura and a Garmin?

Then you already know they disagree. ghurt reads both, so you can ask which one is right — and why they differ — instead of squinting at two apps and guessing.

Oura measures readiness as a composite against your baseline; Garmin reports Body Battery and HRV status. They're different models of the same night, which is exactly why comparing them is interesting. Most connectors read one device and structurally can't do this.

Oura + AI questions

Can ChatGPT read my Oura Ring data?

Not on its own — ChatGPT has no access to your Oura account. Connecting ghurt gives it access: ghurt is a remote MCP server that authorizes with Oura through standard OAuth and reads your readiness, sleep, HRV, and temperature data on demand when you ask a question about it.

Do I have to give ghurt my Oura password?

No. Oura supports standard OAuth, so you authorize through Oura's own login screen and ghurt never sees your password. You can revoke access at any time from your ghurt dashboard or from your Oura account.

Which Oura metrics can the AI read?

Readiness score (0–100), sleep score (0–100), activity score (0–100), HRV, resting heart rate, sleep stages, and body temperature deviation from your baseline in °C.

ghurt also passes the scoring context, so the model knows 85+ readiness is optimal and that temperature is a deviation from your own baseline rather than an absolute reading.

Is my Oura health data stored?

No. Each question fetches fresh from Oura and passes through to your AI. Readiness scores, sleep stages, and HRV aren't written to our servers — there's no synced copy of your health data.

Do I need an Oura subscription?

ghurt reads whatever your Oura account exposes through Oura's API. If a metric requires an active Oura membership to be generated in the first place, that's between you and Oura — ghurt can only read data that exists.

Does it work with a new ring?

Oura's readiness and sleep scores need roughly two weeks of wear to calibrate against your personal baseline. ghurt will read whatever's there from day one, but the scores themselves are only as meaningful as Oura's calibration.

What does it cost?

Free tier: 30 queries per calendar month, no credit card. Pro is $10/month for unlimited queries. Both cover Oura, Garmin, and Whoop.
